Transfer practice at HZDR

Transfer has been successfully practiced at the HZDR for many years. We have put together some examples of success in the area of transfer at the HZDR that show you how the transfer from science to industry – from idea to application – has already worked. So that you can imagine where the journey can still lead…

Spin-offs

Since 2012, HZDR has recorded over 20 spin-offs, significantly supported by the Transfer and Innovation department. These include start-ups such as:

Awards

1st place at the Saxon Transfer Award 2021: Dr. Jörg Steinbach from HZDR and ROTOP for the joint production of iodine-123-labeled radiopharmaceuticals for the diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease.

2nd place at the Saxon Transfer Award 2023 and Special Prize for Technology Mediation: Dr. Richard Gloaguen (HIF) and TheiaX GmbH (a spin-off of HZDR) for their non-invasive raw material exploration.

3rd place at the Saxon Digital Award 2024 for TheiaX GmbH.

Strategic cooperations

Strategic partnerships with industry and companies ensure our long-term success in technology transfer. These include both customer relationships maintained through HZDR Innovation GmbH and collaborations of the Innovation Labs or individual institutes for research with application-oriented development. Some successful strategic partnerships include:
– PRIMETALS Technologies
